I was in middle school when it all went down, but at Baylor in the late 90’s. Being very involved with the Waco PD, I had several conversations with people who were there. To a man, they said that the ATF dismissed them as jerkwater cops that had nothing to contribute, and they were to stand down. They said he was in town regularly and they had every opportunity to take him in without conflict, and that the ATF confronted him first, forcing him into hiding. I haven’t seen the show, but this is what I’ve been told by people I trust.

I had to bail about the time Korean got shot, that voice Kitsch used drove me nuts. Also that they seemed to want to pass off pedophilia as just a "custom".

They didn't bring it up in that context, and I don't think they used that as a reason. That's just what I kept thinking as they were trying to paint Koresh as some kind of victim.

Everything could have been handled better, but he decided not to come out, and he decided not to get the kids out....there's more blood on his hands than anyone's. I hope its hotter where he is now than it was in that compound the last day.

Just watched this on Netflix. Not sure how I missed it originally. Intense mini-series. I remember watching it all unfold on the news, was 15 at the time. Wish I knew what really happened in there.

Just watched this series.....it's unbelievable what the government of this country can do to law abiding citizens. For all the "we'll rise up and not let them do this to us crowd", just remember they brought tanks to raid a Christian Cult.

When I was at SWT in the late 90's I took Anthropology Magic, Ritual, and Religion as one of my electives. My prof was part of the team of experts that were brought in to help the govt determine "What did we do wrong?" "How could we prevent this again"? Essentially, to his followers the Govt proved Koresh to be correct in their eyes.

I took that same class with the same Prof....what was his name??? cool class - wish I could remember more from that part of my life!

I finished it yesterday, I thought it was pretty dang good. Pretty sad at the end. Started watching the Jeffrey Epstein show after... whew... That was a sick individual.
