My old ranch name was "Crippled Bear Creek Ranch." Reasoning was at the time I had a VERY bad right hip from a motorcycle wreck that produced a very noticeable limp, the Bear is my "spirit" animal (tats from the Harley Days still with me) and a Creek fronted my property. My 3 son's used to brag to their friends about the name and I had a Bear metal sign with the name at the road entrance to the ranch. One of my son's actually caught a THIEF trying to steal the sign at sunset one evening. When I got down to the road he said "it was just a cool sign." Since he had two young kids with him, we had a "serious" discussion backed up by S&W and his 6 cousins...then I let him go without even calling the SO!

Side note...in my young days when I was NOT fat and old but ripped...many who rode with me knew my road name..."Yo Soy El Oso Grande." I am The Great White Bear. True story and had a lot of fun with it.
