Bookers Rye is pretty tasty with a smoke of a good Rocky Patel

All the purists on here crack me up
No purist here. But, I can say without a doubt the taste and smoothness of Blanton's is off the charts compared to Belle Meade.
Someone at Specs must have told the sales associates to push it.

When I want something with a bite I will drink some good shine.

In addition to many already mentioned, Jim Beam Black is another favorite of mine.

Many of these being mentioned here are not even bourbon.

Didn't mean to call you a purist but someone said it pains them that people are calling things made outside Kentucky bourbon, that's what I was referring to.

I haven't cracked the seal on the Belle Meade yet so I may just keep it for when I need a bottle to give away. At $30 it's a good gift bourbon and I can keep trying to find better selection that my local specs and goody goody

What Makes a Bourbon: A Cheat Sheet
•Must be made in the United States.
                •Must contain 51 percent corn.
•Must be aged in new oak charred barrels.
•Must be distilled to no more than 160 proof and entered into the barrel at 125 proof.
•Must be bottled at no less than 80 proof.
•Must not contain any added flavoring, coloring or other additives.

not that I'm a purist. I prefer a blended whiskey like Three Fingers High.

Budget would be Evan Williams, high class would be Jack.

I bought some yesterday. It was ok. Pretty pricey. I will stick with Blanton's or Bulleit.
I think that I am starting to enjoy more rye in my liquor.

The Sazerac Rye is pretty good for the price.

                                Four Roses Single Barrel
Weller ' s 12 year old - drank a bottle last night with my brother in law. Goes down to easy.

Edit Woodford makes a good rye. Not of fan of their regular or double oaked bourbon
