        bar b que cabbage

i core out the center but not all the way through. Fill center with bacon, butter, little garlic, salt and pepper. Wrap in foil and fold foil so the cabbage is sitting upright and cook on pit with your bar b due for about an hour or so until done. People that HATE cabbage have tried this and love it.

I saw this back in 1996 at a deer camp. But instead of the bacon butter and garlic the guy put a whole jar of cheese whiz wrapped it up and threw it in the fire while we cooked stakes. Every bit of it was eaten.

I cut it up into quarters and season it on some HD foil. Add onions, fresh cut jalapeƱos, butter, bacon chunks, splash of beer or water. Cover with the foil and make it water tight. Grill over hot goals for about an hour. It cooks/steams and all the flavors marry up. Goes real good with a fat ribeye!

I buy a package of shredded cabbage and put it in a skillet and add a can of Rotel and a tablesopon of chili powder. Cook until all of the juice from the Rotel is about gone. Makes a great side dish.
