convincing. the wife to be my partner. Out of curiosity what caliber is best for pesky varmints?

I use .204, but take my .308 for cats that won't come out of brush.

I wish I didn't have to drive so far. Would be a fun one to hunt.

As for what caliber to use,whatever you can shoot accurately. Power is good but if you can't put that bullet where it needs to be it don't matter. I've dropped alot with a .223 and seen some get wounded with a .308 so bigger isn't always better. Just depends on the tournament too. If weight will determine the winner you don't want to leave half of the animals you're shootin laying off in the bushes somewhere.
