and K9 just caught the two outstanding robbers. Makes for good radio traffic

I believe the Bible mentions, if someone steals your cloak, give them also your tunic. It doesn't mention killing them over it.

Now, on the other hand, if I and my family went on a trip and came home late to find a moving van in front of my house I would park down the street, call the police and let them handle it. I would be in no danger and wouldn't go in with guns blazing. Likewise, if I were asleep and heard someone stealing my ATV, again, I'd call the police. My house and yard are covered with security cameras, so they will eventually be caught. If not, I'll let insurance pay for it.
At no point would I let myself or my family be in harm's way, but I will not defend property with deadly force. No property is worth a person's life.

Get some bean bags for your shotgun, less than lethal force he will go down and hold him for the police, I love to see the bean bag deployed, almost as much as the tazer, I used to love the pepper spray but before then I used the pepper stick or blackjack for up close and personal confrontations.

Theres too many scenarios to delve into everyone and every one is a bit different. If the guy is running away down the street with a stolen laptop that is insured, do you still have the legal right to shoot him? I'd say no. Of course it's not up to me, it's up to a jury of your peers.
Also remember, if the use of deadly force was justified, the shooter cannot be sued by the family. Or more correctly the shooter is immune from civil liability in the state of Texas.
Every bullet that comes out of your gun has a potential lawyer tied to it.

Not that Biblical law will provide much protection by itself in the Texas judicial system.

state code - use of deadly force
Someone gets in my home, tries to car jack me (which puts me and my kids in direct danger), obviously hurt my kids that's his ***. Other than that I'm not taking anyone's life over something monetary. I don't care what the TBH Death Squad does. I don't have to pay their Attourney fees. [emoji2]
