I've never had to, but came very close over Thanksgiving last year. We were coming back home from seeing family and stopped at a gas station in Somerville at 9:30 at night. Wife ran in to get something to drink and I notice a guy in a white Toyota 4 runner parked with music cranking and he is watching everyone. I let it be known that I was watching him by making eye contact and not looking away. He then walks in the store so I go ahead and pull my pistol and sit it on my lap. I can see my wife and this guy approaches her. I go ahead and crack my door open and grip my pistol when I see my wife laugh.

She comes out laughing really hard. So hard it took her several minutes to regain her composure. The guy came in to tell my wife that he sees me watching him, but he is a good guy and would never hurt anyone. The guy apologized profusely to my wife. I guess he thought I was about to go postal on him for how he was acting.

The funniest part of all of this is I am not a huge guy. I'm only 5'6" and was considered a nerd through all of grade school. But if you threaten my family, or it looks like you are going to and I turn into Andrea the Giant.

Good. There's a handful that get butthurt on here if I just say good morning. Must suck to know someone on a computer has that much influence over their emotions. Cuz it sure as hell don't bother me none. [emoji2]

Nope. Closest I came was a woman opened my driver door after I got in the truck. I had politely escorted her out of a gas station while she was harassing the cashier. Got in my truck to avoid anything after I paid and she was behind me. She opened the door before I locked it and put her hands on me. This time I politely picked her up and relocated her by a few feet. That's when I noticed her husband in their truck watching what was going down. I gave him the look and he stayed put. He looked like this was a regular occurrence and he didn't care to stand up for her. Never had to think about pulling it, but the thought crossed my mind later of "what if he had pulled one from his truck?" I was shaking mad all night.

She's just lucky I didn't charge a checked bag fee for how far she traveled.

Few years ago headed down 820, I was passing an 18 wheeler and I seen something shoot out the side of the truck into my lane. I slammed on my brakes to avoid what ever it was. I guess there was a guy ridding my back bumper when this happened. He thought I had brake checked him. I continued on my way passed the 18 wheeler and this guy came flying up next to me flipping me off and started swerving at me. I had my wife and daughter in the truck. So trying to avoid conflict I decided to exit and let him get on his way. Well this guy exited also. I pulled into the gas station and I heard him sliding to a stop behind me. I told my wife as we were parking to call 911. He jumped out of his truck and was at a dead run right towards me when I pulled my pistol. He locked down his brakes and threw his hands up. I ordered him to the ground and he did just that. Police showed up and ordered me down and drop my gun. I set it in the bed of the truck and got down also. After all was said and done, that guy went to jail for possession of 2 different controlled substance and had 2 warrants in Denton county. I really thought I was about to shoot this guy. I hope I never have to but I'm prepared to do so if the need ever arises.

Unfortunatly I have pulled mine twice in 18 years. First time was actually right after I got my CHL. Was picking up a car my GF had ruined and left at her friends house. Didn't know the friend or anyone around there. Was winching the car onto the trailer and I see two guys coming toward me from 2 houses down. Both of them were carrying bats and looked ******. I eased up to the cab and got my pistola and watched what was happening. As they got closer they started yelling at me, asking "are you .....?" (a name I forget) and I replied "no". These guys say "yeah, you are ...... and we are going to kick your @$$" I politly pointed my pistol at them, told them they had mistaken my identity, I was getting my car my now ex-gf left here and I would be leaving. If they wanted to continue I would shoot them both and still be sleeping in my bed tonight. They took the hint and hauled butt and never saw or heard of it again. The second was a few months ago I was helping my ex-wife get some things from her place she shared with a ****** after me. While we were loading her stuff he comes out with a .22 and fires off a round. I pulled my pistol and he dropped his real quick, but we called the cops and he ended up going to jail for assault with deadly weapon. Real glad I have never had to pull the trigger.

Put it up against the truck window one morning at work. Guy was standing right at my door.
