Also, my guess is that is a combined amount with his wife.
Nope. Only me. She has her own. And all pre tax. I started putting in there December of 2012. Till today. Set it all up on my own. I make a decent amount of money but nothing crazy.

I don't want that. I have assets coming from 3-4 places. My old employer, my wife's old employer (Both 401ks) and I'll put post tax into it as well. I will keep my current company 401k as is. But I want someone to help with overall budgeting too.

Can't hurt to talk to a few and come to your own conclusions either.

That's a given. And I have some meetings set up. This post has been pretty helpful.

With the average household income being around 55K per year, I would say your making more than decent money lol. Unless you're living on bread and crackers I guess. That's awesome though. Keep it up.

About $1,000 per month in a decent 401k will get you there
If he had employer match dollar-for-dollar only $500 per month would come out of his pocket.

Yep. DCP matched dollar for dollar up to 6% plus an additional 4% in retirement. Current folks are at 4%. I forget how much is earnings at this point in my 401k. I'd have to look but it just started really doing well the past year or so. Growth was slow before that.

Call fidelity or vanguard and tell them to help you rollover into an IRA. Then pick a target dated fund. Then forget about them for 30 years. Set up a brokerage for post tax.

For sure. I am blessed for being where I am and what I am able to do. I didn't realize how good I had it with that DCP 401k either haha. But I wasn't happy working there

We use one. He does a lot of different things, estate planning, tax planning, investing, etc.
