Go with either the Polaris Ranger or Mule Pro FXT. My '14 Ranger 900 XP has over 3k miles on it and has been to Colorado 3 times, hauled 1300 lb sprayer (I know, overloaded) for work and has done everything I've asked it to do without A SINGLE problem. Drive em both and pick the one you like. The only issue between the two to consider is weight. The Mule will weigh quite a bit more and if you're going to be in heavy clay soils, it will get stuck easier.
You owe it to yourself to check out the Honda Pioneer 1000-5 unless you must have that 6th seat. It is WAY more manuverable than the polaris and has plenty of room and with the 6 speed dual range automatic tranny with sport mode and manual option (paddle shifters), it is a serious machine. If you are going to get it pretty soon, you can get some prretty good deals well within your budget on the '16 models.
It will be a hunting machine as well as a farm machine. It will be exposed to every element Texas has to offer.
I use mine for both and love it - Kubota 1100 - full cab - ac/heat/dust proof/wipers - tough as heck - suspension is equal to Polaris - a little slower than polaris but fast enough (20-24 mph) - hydraulic bed dump -
Thanks for all the info guys! Don't know how much longer our 800 Ranger can hold up to the brutality it is subjected to and I've been wondering what my options would be next round. Already have 6400 miles on her in some ROUGH terrain.
I have the ranger 900xp crew 5 seater. Stock height would not work for me I knew that going into it. I use it from hunting on the 4k acres in kiamich mountains to mud riding at River run atv park. First thing I did was add arched a-arms and 29" tires. There is not a place I can't go in the mountains the long turning radius doesn't bother me one bit. It rides as smooth as a Cadillac and to me that is worth a lot.
Don't get a 570 Polaris. I have a full size 2 seater and I can feel the struggle between unloaded and with few 100 lbs of corn and another person. Plus it is loud compared to the 900. I wish I would've not been a cheap *** and got the 900. The motor is the only complaint I have
