Better late than never.
I've been wanting to shoot a deer all season with my pistol. My wife has been on a roll this year killing a couple of her first animals with her bow so I've been a spectator most of the season. We've had this doe coming in for 3-4 weeks just being the PITA doe we all hate. We had named her the snitch. She would always come in on high alert, stiff legged walk, stomping, blowing just being a real over all PITA. I had been holding off shooting her hoping my daughter would be able to go hunting and take her out. Finally when we found out the last weekend of extended season it just wasn't gonna happen this year, my wife and I slipped away a little early on Friday the 13th.
Well it was definitely her unlucky day. 30 yard shot slightly quartering to and I put the 200 grain Hornady XTP right on the point of the shoulder. She bucked, ran about 20 yards and tipped over. I watched her fall from the blind. She was even gracious enough to die right on the edge of the road so no tracking necessary and load up onto the golf cart was super easy.
