Congrats! That is a MAJOR accomplishment these days. Heck, when I got out of high school as long as you had a pulse and a decent SAT score you could get into UT. I had some friends get in that had sub-1000 SAT scores. I have a colleague with a son at Georgetown who was wait-listed at UT. Again, major accomplishment. Congrats to the clan!
Thanks for the kind words everybody. I'm still wired over it, trying to calm down with 3 fingers of Laphroag.
Her school choices in order were
Boston University
UT
Johns Hopkins
Tulane
Texas Tech
Baylor
Until tonight she had only been accepted to Tech. Boston already told her she qualified for the presidential scholarship ($20K) but she'd have to get the trustee full ride for me to send her there. Unless JH or Tulane come in with big money she'll be in Austin, just 2 hours away! I'll be hitting Academy for some burnt orange gear tomorrow.
She probably will at some point. Just needs any health science type undergrad because her ultimate goal is to be an Occupational Therapist, graduate degree.
Congrats. Our son graduated UT this past May with a BS in Chemistry and has been accepted to the Pharmacy school starting this August, so in a few years I'll have some discounted drugs!
Congrats to you and your daughter! Great school! They took a lot of our money as we had three graduate through the system, 2 in Austin and one at UTSA.
