What's a maid/housekeeper cost?Say to come out one day every other week?

We pay $90. for a 2400 sq ft home - Have only had one lady (Even before I was around) and have never shopped around.

I really think we should find someone just to come in and do laundry once a week. The rest of the house is fine but that laundry pile just never goes away!

Ours does the same. My better half works a lot longer / harder than I do throughout the week. Much more important things to take care of rather than cleaning after 4 kiddos. Like sammiches.

Same here. My wife works a lot longer hours than I do and her job is a lot more stressful than mine.

What do yall do around the house since yall pay everyone to do everything?

Big Dave Ramsey fan here. I think you're misquoting him. You probably heard him tell some broke joker to fire his maid. After people are debt-free, Dave just wants things in a budget. We budget for a maid to come 1X a month and it's some of the best money we spend.

Curious on those that have a housekeeper/maid.How do you find them?Do you use a service or find them on your own.

We used a service called Thumbtack. You post your job and contractors send you bids. Previous customers' reviews of the contractor are available on the site for you to check out.

Another option is a Facebook group in your neighborhood.

We pay our maid $25 per hour in Austin. She comes once a month and works for 5 hours. I'd expect it to be less per hour in a smaller town. Everything in Austin seems expensive.

Im at my house to sleep it seems most days, lol - With 4 kids with individual sports and team activities, I don't have a lot of time to do much other than the regular pick up and dishes.

I use that free time to spend at my Kids' functions/ checking homework and extra time with the better half. Money well spent.

I'm in the same boat, but bringing in a cleaning lady incites the fire of hell from my wife. She'd rather quit her job, she makes more than me, than be subjected to bringing in someone to clean her house....

Ok, here is my story... We had a housekeeper for 12 years, she came and cleaned 2 a month. Was wonderful. My wife would spend the day before she came over going through the whole house picking it up. About 4 years ago, the housekeeper moved and now my wife doesn't want another one because picking up before the housekeeper comes is too stressful!
Wanna know what is stressful? Try driving an hour and a half each way to work and coming home to a mess every day because my wife cannot finish anything.

Yes and yes. We haven't had groceries in over a week, and it's dang sure not because there ain't no money. I think it's her way of not having to cook or something. And why in the living hades is there three laundry baskets overflowing and the same clothes have been in the dryer for two days. And those dishes.....I'm going to stop now. SMDH
