    I am!
    Occasionally.

I can usually help my chances if I help her with her cleaning duties.

That sounds like the kind of statement can make a frying pan fly.

We haven't gone with a maid in our house, but are about to go with a lawn guy for the same reasons listed above...limited time as it is to spend with kids and have any hobbies with 60-80 hour work weeks.

Since our maid does laundry and other tasks as well she basically does a quick clean of the whole house each time and then focuses on detail cleaning with the house split into two separate trips the remaining time. Such as washing our bed sheets on Monday and then the girls' bed sheets on Thursday. She is usually there about four hours each time.

              Cool.

Are you referring to a grounds keeper?

My lawn guy charges less than I charged people when I was mowing lawns as a kid. When the bushes/trees need trimming he is all over it too and hardly charges anything. I have to give him extra because I feel like I am ripping him off.

Don't hesitate, go for it. You won't regret it.

Yes, I know. I guess its still a pride thing. Pretty much the whole street is done by lawn guys minus myself and a retired family friend a few houses down, I will catch grief from him if I "cave".

I did cave on the leaves this year. We have two 36" red oaks in the front and two 36" water oaks in the back. I could have bagged acorns and sold them this year as a side business, they were worse than the leaves.

Curious on those that have a housekeeper/maid.How do you find them?Do you use a service or find them on your own.

When my wife went back to work teaching one thing we agreed on was getting a housekeeper to come in twice a month so neither one of us have to spend have the weekend doing these things.
The funny thing though is that I am the only one in the neighborhood that still mows my own lawn, everybody else hires it done. My neighbor is a stay at home dad and he doesn't even mow his own lawn and they have a housekeeper. I even see the pizza delivery man a couple times a week at their house. Not sure what he does all day! LOL

It's a constant battle at my house to get my wife and kids to clean up after themselves. I sound like a broken record telling them the same stuff every day. I am a very (OCD) clean and organized guy and it bothers me really bad for the house to be messy. When I was single my house stayed immaculate. I think I am about ready to cave and let a house keeper come once a week because griping and trying to lead by example hasn't worked over the last 12 years!

Ok, here is my story... We had a housekeeper for 12 years, she came and cleaned 2 a month. Was wonderful. My wife would spend the day before she came over going through the whole house picking it up. About 4 years ago, the housekeeper moved and now my wife doesn't want another one because picking up before the housekeeper comes is too stressful!
Wanna know what is stressful? Try driving an hour and a half each way to work and coming home to a mess every day because my wife cannot finish anything.
