Mathews Q2 bow - thoughts on used bow

I have someone trying to sell me a Mathews Q2 bow, hard case, Cobra release, Cobra fiber optic 3 pin site for $250....

I am not sure...He says it has been in the closet for 2 yrs, new strings were installed 2 years ago.

He sent pics of the bow and items... all look fine in pics

What say you GS.... IS $250 too high for a Q2? It is a 2000-2003 year made bow. He says he bought it new 8 yrs ago but not so sure.

Thoughts?

I doubt he bought it new 8 years ago. I had two of them back in the day. Great bows back then, but technology passed them by. I sold both of mine and moved on to better equipment.

I sold one for $350 in 2009.

I think you can find a newer bow for close to the same amount of money.

If it's clean and in great shape that's not a horrible price. I don't think I'd pay more than $200 for that set up. Lots of much newer bows on here go for $500-$600 fully loaded. I'd hold out for one of those deals.

Mathews Q2 bow - thoughts on used bow

I have a friend that hunts with a q2 and refuses to buy the newer technology. And he kills with it all the time. Loves the bow. I shot it and it's an awesome bow!
He killed this hoss a little over a year ago.....

No doubt it's a killer, I Used an mq32 and legacy for a very long time.

IMO that seems to be a pretty fair price for an older bow. I would bet it shoots very well. I have an old SBXT that I paid $350 for a couple of years ago and I would not take for it now.

I shot an SQ2 back in the day. That's not a bad deal, especially if the strings are new.

I'm still shooting my 06 SB XT and it kills what gets in front of it.

And not a terrible price.

My Q2 is my backup bow. When I practice with it I wonder why it's not my primary bow. It has always just felt good and shot well for me. I have no idea if $250 is a good price but It wouldn't be enough for mine.

I owned 2. They were as quiet of a compound I ever owned. That's not a bad deal.

a friend of mine still hunts with his q2 and says he likes it and has no plans to change.

I sold one earlier this year $125. Go on eBay they sell for next to nothing.

Got a good friend (CastandBlast's uncle) that shoots a Q2. He has 2 of them and has shot them since they first came out... He's a killer with them. they are fast, quiet and deadly accurate with repeatable performance over and over again. I guarantee you twice that wouldn't buy either one of his.
