I used large PVC pipe to make tube feeders. Never had an issue. Is it the noise from the motor that's the issue? You could just use a gravity feeder if that is the case.

This seems to help for cautious deer.

      Good luck sir!
I have a few of these as well, painted to match the trees, you can hardly tell they're there

Never have had a problem with feeder shy deer, sometimes it just takes them a while to get used to a new set. Our RR deer did take some time getting used to feeding pens, though, as we don't have many fences on our lease.

They will not eat any of the corn under the feeder, they are OK with corn thrown away from the feeder. I'll going to try an winch up feeder with 14 to 16 feet legs

Are pigs coming at night and stomping/peeing on the corn under the feeder? They might not like the smell or left over from group of hogs?

I never thought of that, we have pigs every night.

Get a directional feeder that you can hide in the brush.
