Hog Problem Solution

I built that trap with my dad n law. I had built many before and all were closed in on top, and worked great until the day my Dad and Uncle called and told me that we had one of our young multi-tined deer in it. The deer ended up killing him self. I then started testing different trap designs, cattle panels in different shapes. Some with push openings, some with spring gates. I tested some that had floors, some that did not.
After we trapped a few 150 pounders and watched then climb out of a straight wall pen, we decided to build this one. It is simply a pipe frame panels with cattle panels welded too. We pin the panels together for quick disassemble and movement. We then welded a 14" flat frame piece to the top of each panel and angled those 14" pieces inwards 30 degrees.
The gate is a gulitine style with the trip wire at the very back corner. I have yet to have a hog climb out, and I have watch a couple try to only fall back in.
I also have watch deer walk in the gate and jump out.
Win win for me. This traps record catch is 13 at one time. Biggest hog caught in this one is approx. 225 boar that wanted to eat me.
If you would like some close up photos just PM me your email and I will send you a few.
