I finally got a chance at an axis buck last weekend. We had a monster on camera, but he dropped his antlers the first of November. I was a little bummed because we didn't have pics of any other shooters. This guy walked out at 5 on Saturday evening, at a stand where we hadn't even seen axis on camera. His brows and cottles were about done growing, but he still had some growing to do on his main beams. The velvet makes up for the shorter beams though. His main beams were around 26", brows were over 12" and spread was a little over 24". His bases were over 8". I couldn't be happier with him, he's going to make an awesome mount.
