Those who are naive flame myself and others for being armed and having a security team. For those that think it is stupid to carry at church, go ask a Christian in the middle east if the threat is real.

I wouldn't go to a church that didn't allow me to carry.

I gotcha. I saw the article but didn't know if I was missing something somewhere. Makes sense not to make it public.

My church has 06 and 07 signs posted, however if we find out that you can legally carry we take you to a range to make sure you know how to handle your firearm and can hit what you are aiming at. You then fill out a waiver signed by the pastor giving you authorization to carry.

The main reason why we don't want everyone carrying is we want to minimize potential problems that could arise from people who really don't know how to hit their target. 2 guys have already been told not to carry. 1 is because he can't grip his firearm right so it jams frequently and the other guy is similar to Barney Fiff.

Really wish the US, Russia, and China could work together to eliminate countries that sponsor terrorism, then just divide up the spoils. I realize you will still have the occasional nut blow something up or shoot people, but to have countries openly fund terrorism and/or groups like ISIS in existance is a really hard for me to believe. Seems like it would be easy enough to eliminate the problem if the civilized world would work together.

Place a couple of pigs and a display of bacon near the entrance. All is good.

My preacher does not know I carry

But I would bet money he would not be surprised

Its a shame that we have let these radicals into this country and because we have we now have to worry about this garbage taking place.... It makes no sense..

I've been seriously concerned about this for some time. Churches are soft targets. They know it. GOD forbid it ever happens..
Pastors and congregations should not take these threats lightly.

When I'm in church I'm carrying. Several of us do.

I think, we should return the favor, with a list of our own.....

I hope every church has armed paritioners at the doors.
Mine has armed ones sitting in the service!

Feds issue Terrorist warning on attacks at churches during holidays

A few weeks ago at our church (Village Church) in Highland Village, we had 5 young Muslim looking guys come in. Very prototypical looking terrorists. But we are a very diverse congregation, so I didn't think too much of it at first. 3 came and sat directly in front of my family, 2 others separated and sat several rows over. This is in a congregation of probably around 2,000.

It didn't feel right, but didn't know if someone invited them and were guests... anyway, they pretty much played on their phones all service, took selfies, didn't close their eyes to pray etc. I wasn't carrying either.

At the end of the service, the group of three signaled to the other group of 2 and they got up and left right before we were to take communion.

Obviously nothing happened, but afterwards wondered if they were scoping it out for a future attack. It's kind of a tricky situation as I don't want to be one to wrongfully judge another person but it Was probably dumb on my part not to say anything to security. We have police security but the suicide bombing deal has definitely crossed my mind. I'll be carrying later today.

If that happened the way you described that is eery and does not set well, sounds exactly like they were scoping out the lay of the land

Oh it did... my whole family was freaking out the entire service. Again, what can you do other than be vigilant. This is church where we are to be non judgmental and accepting of everyone right? I've thought about it a lot ever since.
