I framed their houses for a year, too. It was not uncommon for us to start framing the morning after a pour while they pulled foundation boards off.
The house across the street that they started building about 4 months ago was done like this.

Only after we bought this house did we find out it remained vacant for nearly a year before we bought it. During this entire time, a neighbor would come over and look at the house. My neighbor told me that no one wanted it because the living room floor had waves in it. The neighbor told me after a few months, crews came in and jackhammered the foundation inside the house, then repoured the concrete to get it smooth again. At no point did anyone disclose this to us.

I live in college station and told my realtor both times I won't buy a stylecraft house so don't show me one... I picked one off a picture online to look at and when I drove up the front porch post was leaning, the upstairs creaked and popped and two rooms walls were wavy. I looked at her and said crap I didn't even pay attention to the website this is stylecraft isn't it... then we left

Palm Harbor as in manufactured home? I'm on the coast.

Well, this is pretty good information for me. We've been looking at a couple of StyleCraft homes in Bryan, the Elite series, and they seem to be using pretty high quality goods on them. Really like a couple of the floor plans. We even talked to a couple of home owners who said that the StyleCraft people were awesome to work with.

I called the head person over warranty claims in College Station after she sent me an email telling me to call her if there are any problems. I could never get in touch with her as her voice mail always picked up. So I left a message and have never heard from her.

I just submitted a warranty request for the crack in the ceiling. Now we will see how long it takes to get this fixed.

btw, before we moved in, there was a crack in the ceiling in the exact same location that it is in now. So this seems like it could be an ongoing problem.

Aren't they suppose to disclose foundation problems when they do the warranty deed?

Shouldn't the title company be contacted? They would know. I would also talk to the realtor.

I have no idea. This is the first new home I have ever bought.

Can you post up pictures of the crack in the ceiling? Is it big, or small?

Here it is. It's not very wide, but it is really long and in the same spot that a crack was before we purchased the house.

Here is how the shower looks right now.

The ceiling crack in your picture is fairly common. Typically those type of cracks are considered a cosmetic issue and not warranted. Maybe your builder will warrant it.

Sometimes shower pans crack. Not typical, but it happens. I would spray a little bleach on the floor. You shouldn't have any mold issues, provided the subfloor is dry and you don't have any new leaks.

                                Good luck with it all.
