We had a commercial truck come into shop for low power issue. Had it on the dyno and the truck was putting far more out than what the engine was supposed to. When they got to looking into the issue found out that the truck had things missing , cut off , etc... cost the owner 7K to get his truck back out and the truck fixed back to when it came off showroom floor.

Texas law clearly states that the turbo does not count, now this was written before the VGT turbos were put on I'm sure but still. I just put a 12" resonator on mine, looks just like a big glass pack and did not change the sound at all but it's a muffler by law!
