Fill me in on these SWAG copters. Do they land on the recruits front lawn to woo them or do they land at the airport and take a taxi to their house. Can't see where arriving in as cab would impress anyone. Might impress the recruits that like CZ earrings and gold teef. Does Sabin have one?
I see Lane as a one foot out the door kind of coach and that's the opposite of what UH wants. If this happens, I can't wait to read the contract.
I assume Coach O would turn to The Major as his OC.
I 100% Agree, if it ends up being LK... I would be VERY INTERESTED in how that contract reads.
I am secretly hoping for Les Miles, and a GREAT offensive staff. As BOB astutely pointed out, TDECU is field turf, our agronomy department (if we have one) might need plant a patch of grass on our sideline for LESTO to chew on.
I think it is time for him to go somewhere to be a HC again. Just guessing because I have not watched much Houston but if they have some O talent this is a good fit. He can call a game, work with and develop QBs, and if he does the TD call when the ball is snapped, then the UH crowd will go wild.
If I were a DC and could get some players I'd like to have him scoring points for me. He might not have all the tools he has had for the past 3 years but he knows the framework and UH evidently has a lot of pieces in place. Cost to get him will not be like getting an existing HC. We will not know but this should be a fun negotiation if they try to get him.
I still think a sideways move as a college OC anywhere, including LSU, would be stupid. I guess the same for a NFL OC too but I don't really follow it.
I just thought it would be quite a fall from the USC days. It seem like a step back from his current job. I would imagine he could do better in the coming years. He has never struck me a the kissing the players and tucking them in for bed check type of coach UH has become accustomed to

I guess it depends on if he gets a clause that says be good but not so good other teams want you. If he is good and BAMA comes calling in 5 years how much would that clause have been worth to UH either way? I want a Coach that gets calls and then we have to figure out how to keep him. UH is kind of in a tough spot because they evidently got screwed by TEXAS from getting in the B12 and with that a path to CFP.

They don't want their coaches jumping after a couple of years. If they get 5 years out of their next HFC, then I bet they would be happy.
How did TEXAS screw them out of the Big 12? It made no sense for the Big 12 to expand add especially to add a team in Texas. The TV dollars call the shots, that is what screwed UH.

He will not be kissing and tucking in guys. I don't see Houston as a step back from being an OC. He has made our offense over the past three years. His next HC job will not be USC, BAMA or tOSU but Houston could do a lot worse. I believe Sexton is his agent so you know what you get there.

I did not think he was going to have a shot at a top 10 spot but I figured he could play in a Power 5 conference.

It's Friday, just trying to liven up the thread! I read a quote somewhere from Tillman essentially saying that. If LK has a couple of good years at UH I would not expect BAMA to come try to get him..but five years, well maybe.
Tired of the November nose dive... tired of getting excited out of the starting block only to gas out before season is half over... tired of hearing about

I'm just saying in spite what he dealt with at HC stops he has to dial back expectations. He does not have the luxury of waiting for one of those ( I would like to see him at Oregon) to call and needs to be seen as a HC again. If nothing else it always helps to get interview experience.
