I just assumed Dykes would hold out for TT. What went wrong with Morris? Seemed perfect to me.

IMO Chad wanted to up the $$$ and BU wouldn't budge for him. I was actually somewhat pleased by that move by the BU brass but only with the assumption they had a backup plan in place. Rhoades has been extremely secretive on everything to this point.

Some have also suggested that Morris isn't a completely dead scenario either regardless of what he told his team this past week.

Baylor has a really long way to go in this recruiting class (only 1 commitment) and they have known the job was open all year, so I am shocked it has taken this long unless they are getting some push back / rejection / request from these coaches. IMO the recruiting aspect is the least important factor right now. Are they way behind, yes. Will the new coach have time to sign some kids, yes. They aren't going to land any big name recruits like they were starting to the last few years however that was going to be the case anyways or at least not likely.

This hire determines how long, or if ever, it will take Baylor to continue to be relevant in football.

Get it right and everything will take care of itself. Get it wrong and they might as well sell the new stadium for scrap.
