So it was opening day on a brand new lease that we had never hunted. It was the day after Halloween and we had just watched the Blair witch movie the night before. So im sitting in my stand about an hour before light and I hear this BLOOD CURDLING SCREAM
I swear somebody was murdering a woman out in the woods. I have spent many years in the woods and never anything like it so I remembered an old man telling me there were long tailed cats back there and I decided it was a cat sure scared the Heck out of me at the time. I later found a young deer with its throat chewed out and covered with branches and leaves.

I'm going with mountain lion. I was 11 and hunting rabbits with my dad in a palmetto flat off a big creek. I heard the same thing and moved closer to my dad, he told to get on the other side of him and don't be scared of a lion roaring. It didn't work, I was looking for that lion all night!

A little over 10 years ago I was camping at a race track outside of Tulsa Oklahoma. Late at night I was awakened by a sound that sounded like a cross between a woman screaming and a baby crying. The shriek was coming from the south east of my location. Since I was in a tent, I froze and listened. Over what seemed like an eternity, the screeching beast moved. To the east and then north east. Then it came back towards me, from the east and then from where it originally came from, the south east. During the entire time I don't think I breathed at all as I was not armed.

The next morning I talked to my other friends that I was there with. Both of them had heard the noise. One was also tent camping and the other was sleeping in his truck. When my friend in the truck heard the sound, he rolled the Windows up and locked the doors!


We talked to the track staff the next day and they told us it was a mountain lion. They also said we were crazy to be tent camping there since the mountain lion was a frequent visitor to the track.

Yesterday morning at 5:45, I had something growling and sniffing at my pop up door. It was there for about 5 minutes. If it touched the tent it was gonna catch 15 .40 hollow points in the face. It's been weird lately. The deer have been acting funny. They keep looking in one direction and backing out. This was getting me excited at first. Thinking a big buck was in the area. But some have been snorting and running off as if they saw a person. Also before daylight twice I've heard squirrels barking. I'll start hearing them bark far away and more will bark as something gets closer. First year I've heard that in the dark. It's ok though, I got the glock.
