Went out this weekend hoping to catch the peak of the rut (usually the weekend before Thanksgiving in my area) and to my surprise there were still huge bachelor groups running around. In one group we counted 8 bucks just hanging out. A lot of the young ones had started to act squirrely chasing young does but it didn't seem like the rut was anywhere close. Anyone else in the area seeing the same thing?

Same here.
Sitting in a blind in London, no sign at all this weekend here. Last weekend they were running everything around.

Opening weekend of rifle hunting there was a little sign. The younger bucks were sparing and some were chasing does. The other guys on my lease said last weekend they were rutting hard. I was pumped thinking this cold front would really have them going for this weekend but I haven't seen any sign that the bucks are even interested.

Down in hidalgo county I had a big wide deer show up with a smaller buck on camera bachelored up. Then one of my five pointers and a spike that had been together split up and they got me excited for the rut then yesterday evening I see them grouped up again. They're messing with my feelings man, all I want for Christmas is the rut to kick in!!!
