Thoughts on the Bowtech General?

My friend is looking at getting back into bowhunting and wants the Bowtech General. Any thoughts?

There is a General for sale in the classifieds. Have not shot the newer models so I don't really have an opinion.

i like mine but if i were getting back into bow hunting , i would get the admiral.

I have a 2007 Guardian and I love it! I used to shoot a Legacy and this bow is much nicer. A friend has a 2008 General and he thinks it is the best ever. He used to shoot a Switchback and he says this one is much faster and has less vibration, I haven't shot his yet, I'm afraid I'll want one.

I sold my General, got the new AlphaMax and looking for an Admiral.

The draw cycle on the general I shot was absolutely horrible. If you can handle the draw cycle, that bow, on the shot, is unbelievable. No noise or shock whatsoever. I went with the guardian instead. Almost as quiet, dead in the hand, and a much better draw cycle. JMHO.

That bow is a nock off of the Mathews Genesis. Bow Tech is a follower not a leader. J/K I know nothing about the bow, but Bow Tech usually makes good bows, as does Hoyt, Mathews, Martin etc. Have him shoot it and if he likes it get it. Just had to get a gig in as everyone wants to bash Mathews so bad.

Unless you are getting a GREAT deal on the General, look at the Captain or my favorite, the Admiral.
When the General came out, I disliked it so much that I wouldn't sell it, but I think the Admiral may be the best bow(for hunting deer), ever built.

I love mine but I am not able to buy new bows all the time. The bow is really smooth and shoots way better than my q2.

Everywhere I go everyone wants to shoot my Admiral and the first word out of their mouth is always Wow!!! By far the quietest bow I have personally shot. No hand shock and a pretty smooth draw cycle for a binary cam bow. I shot everything I could get my hands on before I bought mind including the 09 Hoyts, 08 PSE's, 08 Mathews, and others and for me there was no question which bow to buy.

I wish that people knew me well enough to know that I don't sugarcoat anything.
The '09 lineup from Bowtech is so impressive,( after the General scared me), I terminated my Mathews dealership today.

I have shot an Equalizer and that is 1 sweet shooting bow or Bowtech...Brian
