Congratulations Brett!! Great accomplishment for shore!

Doc, When I used to body shoot 'em with a bow, I had the best luck doing them like Buff advises everyone who comes to his place... Right up the leg (and just a tad forward of it). If you can hit the joint where the upper leg connects to his body, you'll take out everything and he'll drop right there and flop around a little bit... The last 10 or so I've shot with my bow, I used the Gobbler Guillotines... They drop like a sack of rocks (then they flop around A LOT) and they don't go anywhere. I'm up to 33 with a bow, but since I lost my place out west, might be a while before I get to add to that tally...

        Congrats Brett! Great bird!

The one and only I have killed, I put a Muzzy right in the wing butt and dropped it in it's tracks. A little flopping and it all over.

Nice shot. I too have a mixed record when it comes to taking turkeys with a bow. It's nice to learn some more tricks to getting them to go down quick (thanks Slick). I've had them fly off with my arrow more than once but my recovery rate is improving now.

            Congratulations Brett!!

Our new lease is flat over run with Turkey - Every deer hunt I see no less than 25 and on two occasions have had between 60-70 come in

I've missed several aiming low like on deer but turkey jump up when the goes off. Aim high if anything.

Congrats Brett, I am still looking for a tom with a bow. Have killed several hens and shot several toms but I have never recovered any. I've used different broadheads, made different shots and some how some way I still haven't recovered one. Never killed anything more than a yearling jake with gun or bow.

Sounds like you need some help thinning the herd
