There used to be a video floating around from the last election as "proof" but who knows the validity. Most people dont think to take out their phone to record it unless they are suspicious beyond belief and if that's their case they need a new hobby. JMO

I early voted yesterday in beautiful Downtown Cleveland, Texas... Heck, had to stand in line for over 30 minutes!!! Got inside the voting room, there was one little old lady checking everyone in and they had exactly ONE (1) electronic voting machine!! When I finally got up to the front of the line to get checked in, the lady asked me, "Hon, you want to use that 'lektric machine or you want a paper ballot?" I asked which one would be faster. She told me there were 4 ahead of me waitin' on the machine... I told her to just give me a paper ballot... First paper ballot I have filled out in many, many years, but it felt pretty good... until... it was time to turn in the ballot... the lady pointed over to a big old black machine that looked like a copy machine sitting on top of a big ol' trash can... I went over and placed my ballot in the bed of the "scanner" and SWOOSH, that sucker sucked my ballot right inside the box... I said, "Wow, that thing looks like a shredder!" The room erupted in laughter, from everyone but that sweet little old lady... She didn't think I was very funny at all... one other voter quipped, "depends on how you voted whether the machine shreds your ballot or not..." ...more laughter, then the steely eyes of that lady returned some serious quiet to the room... I don't have a clue whether my vote was counted or not since it was still a dang lektric machine what scanned my ballot.
Edit to add: there was the one lady checking everyone's voter registration, but there were 3 or 4 other poll workers assigning machine use and handing out paper ballots so she wasn't alone but you could sure tell she was the head cheese in the room.Last edited by SaltwaterSlick; 10-25-2016, 09:01 AM.
