I showed up at the processor this year without the head and they refused to take the meat because they were cited by the game warden last year for not getting tags. I rushed home to beat the garbage man and got the tag and went back. Took my second deer to a different processor and they only asked for my license number but not the tag. Sounds like all processors may not be doing all they are supposed to in recording and receiving deer.
Seriously, the last thing I would want to do is call attention to myself. Processing at home is easy.
