    Arrow cutting question

Sorry I would post this in the equipment section it just looks like it hasn't been frequently visited and I need a quick answer, but how do you cut your arrows? I have about 40 30in arrows and they need to be 24 in how can I cut them? Would I just use a standard table saw?

You really need a high speed cutter. You did not mention if they are carbon, but if they are be sure to have plenty of ventilation.

Yes they are carbon. Didn't want to take them some where if I could do it at home

Yeah I work at a bow shop in Austin and if you want to do it right, you have to have a high speed saw. We cut and put inserts in arrows for people on the cheap, so I'd go to a bow shop to have it done. I'm pretty sure there is a decent bow shop there in Wharton.

Is there? I haven't seen a bow shop if there is. I'll try and find it here in a minute, but the only place I know of close is R&M in elcampo about to call and see how much it would be

After many years of having my arrows cut elsewhere, I eventually broke down and bought this arrow saw:

That price on Amazon - $125 - is a great deal on it by the way - I paid considerably more if I remember right. One idea is to divide the cost between several archery buddies - well worth it

Some guys just buy a mini chop saw and say it works fine:

Thanks for the ideas I have a bunch so I'm going to try a few things before taking them some where. Figured it might be easier than driving 15 minutes to have it done

Tried the pipe cutter before I saw that. It works good right until the end gonna take some practice but I don't see why it wouldn't work

Not sure I would recommend this but my cousin uses a dremel cutter, says it works good. He kills several deer per year with his bow so I cant argue with his results.

been doing it since carbons came out and never had a failure.
epoxy the inserts in and when there is some that comes out when the insert is put in just smear it around the outside of the arrow tip. No splinters and no problems.

Thanks gonna try this now hoping I can get the other inserts out and not have to buy more but I doubt it. Always an investment with this sport[emoji23]

heat the arrow around the insert for a few minutes and they should come out

Anything special to heat it with? Or just grab a torch and start heating
