If you want to pay the back taxes and keep the property where would you go?

You might be able to purchase said land for the taxes that's owed on the place might be a cheap way to get yourself some land once owned by your family for a really cheap price.

I know he isn't full of it because I've been looking and I have found one that the taxes are current on that is under my grand mothers estate. I have a feeling someone in the family is paying this and wants everyone else to think it's been sold. I found another that has roughly $7k in back taxes owed on it since 2004 and it still hasn't been siezed or sold. It says on the county website I could pay $800 something to get a payment plan going which I may do. I have a feeling alot of the properties may be under business names and such. My grand father was a very successful business man and there is no telling what all he has done. It would make sense too because the property he was asking about I remember but I can't find it anywhere but he was able to locate it

I would want to know what the properties were, their ownership status and the amount of taxes owed, if any, before I decided whether I wanted to pay the back taxes.

Whatever you do, don't call an attorney.

You can only trust the guy that called you out of the blue.

Well by all means please let the OP and others know how to do that if you know a better way. I agree with what you're saying.

That requires many more facts, including private details, and some digging, and is better left to a face-to-face conversation. I do this kind of stuff every single day, for a living. I'm extremely comfortable having that conversation privately, but not going to do it on a public forum.

I simply asked the question. Phone scams happen everyday. No reason to be an arse, but that obviously hasn't stopped you. Like I said before, I agree with what you said. You're the expert. Hopefully you will help the OP. Take care

Thanks for all of the responses guys, I'm sure the guy calling was hoping we were letting the property go because we couldn't pay for it and was hoping he could sweep in and get a deal before it got auctioned off. I'm sure the first thing that needs to happen is find any property they might still own and see what kind of status it is in.
