I signed up for that care-flight. $49.00 a year. Dang worth it. Bought myself a pair of snake boots for the first time this year. Glad I did.

Bought my Vapyrteks this summer. I wear them the whole time at the lease.

I was bitten in the left calf the day before Thanksgiving 1990. I tied a bandana lightly above the bite and drove myself to the highway dept then transported to hospital.
4 days icu, 5 days regular room. no lasting effects from it, except that I always wear snake boots when im in the woods.

Not while deer or turkey huntin. Every time I was huntin exactly what got me.

The first time I looked for more snakes for a little while, took a Benadryl and went to the hospital. It didn't really affect my life. I still have ten fingers. I'm just alot more careful about how I go about picking them up.

Good stories, keep them coming. There is a reason that I posted this when I did. This is just about the worst time of the year to be in the pastures when it comes to snake movement. We have killed three in the last couple of weeks just around the house.
I came home from planting wheat last week to find four "road runners" in the yard. We have had a hatch of rattlers somewhere close to the house. I watched a road runner kill one about a month ago and found a dead one just off the back porch last week just after seeing a road runner running around on the back porch.

You guys be careful and avoid walking where you can't see at least two feet on either side of your pathway. Check your popups before entering them. Those darn snakes are hard to see sometimes.

There was a young child bitten by a rattler near Possum Kingdom Lake a few years ago! She didn't make it!
