Found out why I haven't been seeing deer!

This is the first year deer hunting on my dad's friend place just outside of Kempner and we haven't seen many deer at all. Well, I got a call last night and now I know why...

The owner's mother who is building a home on there stepped out her front door and came face to face with a mountain lion

They have noticed that the few deer they have been seeing are real jumpy and couldn't figure out why, then after seeing the big cat face-to-face I think she realized why

Kind of worries me about taking my little one out there. She will be close at all times that is for sure...

I would just carry a 12ga with some 00 buck...

Look at the positive, that would be a bad A** trophy...

            Be the bait, Daddy.

            She'll shoot straight.

I will have my 30-30 in tow everytime we go out now. Heather says she ain't hunting out there no more... Something about not being cat food

Hopefully I can get Ryen out there on Sunday morning, if not it will be next weekend, either way, she will be walking very close to me

If we see that cat while in the stand, I wonder if the 1, 2, 3, shoot idea will work

I'd have to try the goat thing. I would love to get one with my bow. Good luck.

whatever you do, make sure the shot is good. I heard that tracking a wounded cat is not the smartest thing to do. I'm sure you already knew that.

To be honest, I have seen a lot of people say they have one on their property and never get a chance at it while hunting, so I expect the same results. I need to go down to the lake and get a bunch of carp and dump out there

                    Here kitty, kitty!

                      Tracking

If it doesn't drop where it's shot, I ain't doing no tracking...

I will wait for the buzzards

I know this, ever since my dad killed the one on our place in Junction, I seem to swing the flashlight around a bit more when walking to the stand in the mornings and back to the cabin at night!!!

It just leaves a funny feeling way down deep!!

That funny! Both dad and I walked down there after his shot which was right at dark, and I will be the first to admit it is not a warm fuzzy feeling!!!
