Tips on how to stand a two man ladder stand?

By yourself? I may be able to call someone to help, but is there a trick that I don't know about? Totally kicked my butt today, and nearly fell on one of my boys. I think I may try to lay it on its face with the feet at the base of the tree and pull it up back against the tree with a rope.

Yes. Your last sentence is the best way to do it. The only way it will work by walking it up from the front is if you dig the feet into the ground first (providing a fulcrum of sorts). the safest and easiest tis to have one person pulling it up with ropes while another walks it up.

If you follow the directions, 3 people to set them up.

Ya they suck to put up. A rope and double pulley system works best.

I put my 15' up by doing what you suggested....put base against tree then walk it up, pick it up and move the feet out. I'm 62.

Put the legs about four feet from the tree and and go up fast. It's not that bad and from experience if you don't make it first run the stand will survive. Once up secure bottom ladder bracket then bottom seating area. Racket then top one. Really not much to it.

Extension ladder, ropes, block and tackle. Run ladder up tree , climb ladder secure ropes and block and tackle, use rope to pull platform up, once up secure lower support, climb ladder and secure top to tree with ratchet straps.

It does suck but for me I always end up just climbing the tree and then pulling the stand up. Anything else I try always almost works..........

I put mine up last week. I drove two pipes in at the base then tied the stand to the pipes to prevent it from kicking out.

I've done it with a rope and pulley in the past but it was not always successful.

                              Something like this: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/produ...stem?a=1945968

I've got a set of just the ground swivel pegs without the hoist ... it still makes putting up a two man stand a one man job.
