    CFB 2016 Week 3 Thread

LSU was trailing 3-0 in the 2Q when Ettling came in. Dude came out the gate on fire, completing 6-of-8 passes for 100 yards ... 1 TD rushing, the other passing. LSU scored 27 second quarter pts. to take control of the game. the 2 incompletions were on WR dropped passes and should have been caught.

After Ettling entered the game, the offense and it's production was like night and day compared to Harris. This team needed a spark and Ettling was definitely the catalyst that fired up the crowd and "may" have saved the season. LSU doesn't need Tom Brady at QB. They need a Matt Flynn or someone who can make cerebral decisions and not bone headed mistakes .... WISC interception

I quoted "may" because the person ultimately responsible for LSU's offense and play calling is in denial. He is stuck in the 1970's Bo Schembechler football and has not even attempted to adapt to today's offensive game.

the LSU faithful has seen enough as the torches are lit, and pitchforks ready ... only a matter of months before Miles is sent packing. A NC is the only thing that can save him now. If LSU loses to ALA at home this year (7 in a row) , Miles will be fired the next day.

Too good not to post again

Glad we're in the discussion, it's been a minute.

Polls matter. That's how we/they determine the big games each week. Remember week one? The best opener ever. First time 7 ranked teams lost ever.

Ranked matchups are what we mostly watch other than our teams.

Lotta ball still to be played.

Is Michigan really as good as a number 5 ranking? That one to meet seems a bit off, but then again, I don't watch much big 10 football.

Honestly, I'd rather see the big jumps we've seen in recent years than the old, archaic philosophy that a team shouldn't drop if they don't lose.

I don't think they're completely meaningless, especially for Group of 5 teams, like Houston, that will need all the help they can get. It's obviously not as critical for most P5 teams where, essentially, if you win all of your games (or even just all of your conference games) then, chances are high that you're in. But, beating even a pre-season Top 5 team will carry some weight for those teams when it gets close to selection time. Every ranking as we approach November will increasingly help determine the pecking order when the committee convenes for their first ranking.
            Fair point on UH.

I think they lost both of their big games last year plus the first game of the year to Utah. They did end up winning their bowl game. I think they are riding high on Harbaugh and their status as a blue blood program. I could be wrong.

Or, yes they are that good because of Harbaugh.

Or, Harbaugh is just getting them a bunch of hype. I'm curious how they fair against. Tough opponent.

Lots of luck to those that rely on the success, or lack thereof, of other teams to make themselves successful . . Gotta take care of your own bidness . .

Man, if you don't think Harbaugh is legit I don't know what to tell you.

I am guessing it hinges on a couple of things. How well LSU and ATM finish the season!

It will be a race to see who gets Herman!

ATM isn't in the running for Herman Bro. We going 10-2 and the Swagcopter is not going to crash this year. We have a bunch of talent leaving for the NFL after this season and 2017 could be a setback. But I think Sumlin keeps his job this year BTHO War **** Eagle

Bama and LSU. Until further notice LSU is one of them. You know if y'all just would have let us finish that game in BR last year you would already have a new coach. [emoji16]
