    ESPN getting Ridiculous

    My first TBH Rant. Sorry

When I get up on Sunday Morning from September to February and turn on NFL Countdown, I am tuning in to hear about FOOTBALL! If I wanted to hear about "social injustice", discrimination, or see the constant barrage of protests about this that or the other, I would turn on Fox News, CNN, or some other station that is expected to provide that type of information!

I do not tune in to hear the lasted newly retired NFL Star/ESPN Football Analyst who suddenly since retiring has became the foremost expert on US History use his platform as an excuse to preach to the masses!

That being said I am not insensitive the problems of this world today, but on Sunday Morning, I just want to hear about FOOTBALL!!

Agreed. I will not watch ESPN for that reason mainly, but slot of it is due to their "experts" not knowing a darn thing.

Easy fix - change the channel. That's why I don't watch the news when on the road for business. I only watch local channel to see the regional happenings.

People still watch ESPN at times when they arent broadcasting a sporting event? I thought they had gone the way of MTV as being irrelevant because they got away from their core product that made them successful and started broadcasting nothing but junk.

Oh I did change the channel this morning! It's just disappointing when you tune in for updates on your team and other teams around the league, and you get something completely different

ESPN has always been garbage, but I agree I want to see the game and talk about the game. I could care less what a bunch of meatheads and sports analysts have to say about "current issues" or anything other than the sport. I don't care what socks they wear, who they're voting for, or what they do in their personal time. I played football so I can call them meatheads, it's OK.

I agree with that. On another note the new state farm commercial with Aaron Rogers and Clay mathews is great.

                  That one was pretty funny.

ESPN does suck but I wouldn't expect less from anything owned by Disney.

About all I watch on ESPN is Mike & Mike. However they are getting sucked into it also... Almost seems like they are forced to be talking about it and don't enjoy it

I used to love ESPN. Baseball tonight and sportscenter were rarely missed growing up. It's hard to believe they used to show really good hunting shows on Sat/Sun mornings.

About the time the whole Michael Sam story controlled the headlines is about the time I stopped watching ESPN.

I miss those days too. I quit watching ESPN when they gave the woman of the year award to Bruce Jenner. That sealed it for me. I watch NFL network and mlb network now for my coverage. I won't even go to espns website anymore, even though I really like some of their writers (Tim K, Buster Olney).

What's funny is most of the guys "protests injustice" are bench warmers these days. The media just likes to cover a controversy. This is why I got rid of cable
