Things to do in Llano, Brady, San Saba or Mason

Wife is going with me to deer lease and wants to run into town one afternoon. Which of the towns listed above have shops/antiques/eats in a town square type setting. Also any suggestion on places to eat or things to do would be appreciated.

Been hunting up there for a couple of years but I never go into town I'm hunting in Cherokee and really looking at keeping it within an hour of there.

    Thanks.

I live in Llano and am from Fredericksburg, it'd be better to just go to Fredericksburg not too far from llano. However out of the towns you listed Brady or Llano, Brady has more to choose from but Llano is nice too. San Saba and mason are just cow towns in the eyes of most ladies looking for a day on the town.

Brady has a square with a few shops I think they have a nice bar and grill that is good named lockers

Thanks, Fredericksburg might be an option but she has been there a couple of times. Sounds like Llano or Brady. Llano is just 15 mins away.

I've said this before on here but take her to eat at El Flamenco (or ever how you spell it) in Brady on Friday night. It's fish night and it is dang good. All the locals eat there. The square in Llano is kind of neat. Every now and again they throw a big wing ding on the square in San Saba on certain weekends and there is usually a live band. That is big fun. Fredericksburg is the best for taking the little woman out. Mine would load up and go there in a heartbeat.

Thanks, think she is leaning towards Llano and if she gets bored Fredericksburg.

Heck if I can some work done I might go with her.

Llano has a movie theater, a library with computers, and a small museum (not sure of the hours), and an 18 hole golf course (I'm not a golfer), as well as a city park on the river where you could picnic. Lots of barbeque joints, and a mexican restaurant. Also a gun range at the dump you can join for not much $. Compared to Cherokee, it is a metropolis.

Don't waste your time with any of the four. Go to Fred do some shopping and have a great meal. The new BBQ place is real good.

ok I know several people have said Fredericksburg/llano/brady. I am saying Mason is a great little town and has some nice shops according to the wife. I myself am particular to the food there and the Sequist House on Broad street if they are giving tours is a must see it's over 100 years old!!! Also, I believe it is called Gunny's Ice cream parlor or something Military related that is amazing(Homemade ice cream from a place in Fredericksburg except you don't have to drive as far) and Nachos in mason will meet or beat any Mexican food joint in the area, yes even mamacitas in the burg. and if you are there in the morning, tres caminos behind dairy queen has the best breakfast burritos in town(hint mix the green salsa and red salsa for a just right heat). And!!! Odins Movie theatre always has something playing.

                      Mason.

Lots of little antique shops on the square

Take her to the square plate for lunch, then go to the movie theatre.

You can't miss it....everyone in town will be there

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I have been on this lease for 4 years out of Cherokee and never get out. My feed store, BBQ place and another eating place are within 4 miles of my gate.

The square in Mason has a couple shops and restaurants. Depends on what "speed" she wants to go.
If she wants a fake feeling town, go to Fredericksburg.
I knew the town as a kid before the hoytie-toyties "discovered" it.
