I am getting my speed and set at 60, but not shooting super heavy. Also took off dloop and picked up additional fps by releasing from string.

Had my new to me bow tuned to perfection on a draw board by tbh'r gmotsu23, then sent about 10 arrows into the target to get sighted in.

Then shot 2 field points and 1 Ramcat into the target at 25 yards. Will next test at 40 yards to confirm the group.

Been doing some Broadhead shooting myself. I like the Thunderheads, and now my FP's and thunderheads both shoot the same hole out to 60. It is all in the tuning, and every bow is different. I will say I am VERY impressed by the speeds you are getting hcshooter. What arrow weight and bow specs?

not sure how the bow is tuned properly if you are moving your rest trying to bring broadheads in. maybe I read it wrong. but there should be no rest moving on a bow tuned.

paper tune for bullets whole with field points then shoot heads again.

Krivoman, I have done as you said and had my bow paper tuned. It looked good, and at 20 yards(shops indoor range) all was well. Put BH on it and had no clue where they would go. Just a side note, but paper does get it all tuned in. I ended up putting a QAD on my bow myself, and now can mostly shoot any broadhead... Mostly. :-)

Sacrifice one head for target only, mark it up so you know it is target head.

Mitch when I say I moved the rest it is very micro . Yes my bow beginning all this was paper tuned. On the QAD i did not even move the rest more than half a mark and check flight and target trajectory.

What I was trying to see is with a perfectly paper tuned bow what BH can you screw on and shoot with 0 adjustment. From what I shot today I will need to retune everything to a BH but if you tune to the BH field tips are off.
Its has alot to do with wind deflection over the blades. You can tune the arrow by adjusting FOC and rotating vanes to blade alignment but thats not fail safe.
If i switch shafts and shot super heavy then it was not off as much as the faster speeds.

I know many guys who sight in with field tips then screw on a BH and go hunt. Be great if that worked but not always the case.

Paper tune is a coarse tune.

After that, you can "walk back tune" at 20, 30 and 40 yards to "fine tune" the rest. This will give you the best possible arrow flight and broadhead accuracy.

I need to do mine but the back yard is a bit wet right now.

Yea paper just gets you close to tuned

I now have all my heads (stingers, helix, ramcats, exodus, and expandables) hitting right on with my field tips to 60yds and wont have a tear on paper either

Form is a bigger deal with broadheads than lots of people realize

I agree BP, I'm far from an expert shot and it shows past 50 yards where the groups open up a bit but the flyers seem to become more regular.
