    Lets talk axis BOWhunting.

Lets hear, see and talk axis... BOWHUNTING AXIS.. post any videos, stories, photos or lies.. Ive been chasing a trophy buck for years now( at different day leases) , I've passed up broken up axis and small ones.. but I'm heading to double arrow bowhunting at the end of this month !
If there is one animal i respect, its axis. they are very skittish and a challenge to bowhunt. Lets keep it going, axis bowhunting only.. feel free to throw in whats worked for you.. you don't find much stuff on the internet about axis so why not make a post for strictly axis bowhunting...

Since you have been chasing them for a while, a lot of this may be stuff you have heard before.

They like alfalfa, sweet feed and rice bran at our place. I will have several hunters out next weekend looking for a couple of axis and blackbuck. I asked a buddy to go out today and split a bale of alfalfa between two spots and he is going to do the same on Tuesday for me. Hunters arrive Friday and this strategy worked well for hunters I had out in mid-July; man that was a warm hunt.

In general they pattern much less consistently than the wt and bb. They also hang in bigger groups and seem to never stand still much even when eating. Getting a clear shot at vitals can be tough when there are several in the shooting lane playing duck, duck goose.

      Good luck,
      T

Subscribed. I've been wanting to take an axis buck with a bow for a while now. It's at the top of my list

At my ranch north off Kerrville I put out alfalfa and it usually keeps their attention well enough to arrow one

I've got a lease out near junction that I put protein feeders up to get them in. They stack up on them. Tough to get a shot but they do pour into that feeder

Any pointers on stalking em? No feeder. Looking at a day hunt myself. Thought about putting out alfalfa. But id rather go find em than sit at a location that has no established feeding before I arrive. Talking stalking with bow of course
