I wish it did, I have had my place 12 years and I have one one buck w a little drop tine this year. The first I have ever seen on my place.
By the way I would shoot that deer, nice buck.

I'd shoot him. ANd I understand the low fence comment. In a high fence you can manage if he lives, low fence you never know what the neighbor will do.

I've read before drops come and go. there are those genetic freaks that pass on the gene from my understanding but a lot of natural drop tine bucks are cause by a scratch or injury to velvet at a certain point of development and then it will start growing a new point there. Not sure if that is correct but have read it before. I even read a claim that some breeders were busted pinning the bucks and using razors to strategically create drops. Again just what a read in an article not trying to sound like an expert and have no clue if that is true.

I'd pass and take the other buck pictured, let this guy walk another season.

Let him breed the does during the rut this season and then once he has passed on his genes shoot him..

Yes sir, I have a friend that works on high fence ranch 20 miles from my lease. They killed 4 double drop tines and 2 single drop tine deer last year all on 2200 acres. Was talking to him today and he agreed about the drops coming and going. They had three bucks they passed last year that had drops and now don't this year. Fence does have something to do with it because you can release genetics. He guided before this job for Kenny McCrea all over San Angelo area and had only seen one drop tine deer on 1000's of low fence acres over a 9 year span. The reason for stating Low fence is BC its rare and the part of having a neighbor that will most likely shoot him when he hops our fence 1000 yards away. I wouldn't mind letting him roll another year on a heavy protein diet and see if he will throw the drop again. We will see, for now we are going to try and see him in person and get a good age on him. We don't shoot trophies under 5.5 yrs.

That's why I don't have cameras...I'd drive myself crazy on the days I could not hunt if I knew I had a drop tine buck running around

                        this

especially with what I read from another thread on drop tines not always coming back each year.

I’d shoot if given the opportunity

                          Sigh...
                          HF ≠ Breeder
Plenty of HF operations have never introduced outside non-native deer..and can have deer with drops.

All I'm saying is that it's easier to pass on this deer if it was in a Fence, the whole point is that. As well as it being rare to see one. Which I think majority of these guys can agree
