Early on in the Spring the same buddy that asked me that question and I were out bowfishing and the beavers had really been tearing trees down like crazy out there and I ended up shootin a 50 pound beaver that day. I got out in the water and got it and he looked at me with a confused look on his face. He said "Why did you go get that?" I said "I'm thinkin about taking it to the taxidermist. Or maybe I could make a wallet or something out of the leather on its tail." He was like....."Oh.......okay sure."

That's not weird or strange. People actually do,do that by the way. Beaver tail wallets...It's a real thing. I know what I'm doing people need to not judge me.

I'm gonna need a new house if I start that. I want a full body mount Crocodile someday. I'd settle for a big Alligator but a Crocodile is what I really want. I want my house to look like that scene off of Ace Ventura when he about has a meltdown looking at all of that stuff mounted on the wall.

I keep mine in my Man Cave, and look at it every day! I think I like Turkeys the best. I make a lot of things with Turkey parts!

This is my newest mount. I still have a grey fox getting done so I'm anxious to see it. The rattlesnake turned out nice I think. The lighting isn't the greatest in the picture but I'm happy with how it turned out.

Yep, not weird and I can recall all the memories of each mount I have. That is why I have them and enjoy the heck out of them.

Not weird. I always respond by asking them what are they most passionate about? What is something they think if most hours of the day? I'm always surprised to find that not many people have an activity/hobby/lifestyle that they are as passionate about like a hunter is with the outdoors.

Very true. Outdoorsman understand what a trophy room is all about and why we hold on to things like that. Most other people....not so much. On the other hand I have a buddy that didn't grow up huntin or doing anything similar but he's always liked looking at the stuff I've had done or done myself. I don't think he even owns a gun or bow of any kind though. He likes that kind of stuff he's just never got into it like a few of my other close friends. Just had a different upbringing I guess.

All I know is I'm gonna have a pretty sweet trophy room someday if I'm lucky enough to kill everything on my list. I try to set goals for myself just so I'm not racking up my taxidermy bill like it's nobodies business. I'm pretty selective about things I want to get mounted. Didn't use to be like that though. I had 3 bobcats getting done at one time once and two ended up getting stolen. I thought everything I shot should be a lifesize mount when I was a teenager. I also didn't have any concept of what money was I don't think.
