    Oldest family heirloom

What's your oldest family heirloom that has been passed down? Mine is a cap pistol and harmonica that dates back to the 1860's. It was brought back when the Civil War was over. My family that passed it down fought for the South.

    Bible from the 1820's.

Has a lot of genealogy hand written in the cover.

.32 cal Kentucky. Side plate has a turkey etched on it. Has the original hickory stick ramrod.
And an original .41 cal Philidale derringer. Has all the silver hardware. Exact same model Booth used on Lincoln. Relative carried it back and forth, when bringing settlers to Texas from the east coast. Was popular because it was the smallest black powder derringer of the day. About the same size as today's small derringers.

We don't have heirlooms in our family. At least we don't call them heirlooms. My dad did give me a couple of old rifles that he bought when he was a kid, a Winchester Scout .22 and an old Savage 25-20. I will pass them on to a son in law or grandkid someday along with dozen of others that I bought when I was younger.

I have my great-grandmothers piano made in 1912 and my great grand-fathers Colt 1911... serial number dates it at 1919.

I have my great grandfathers pump 22, still has a matchstick under the rear sight, it's what he used to adjust the sights, even left the dried up mud from the peanut field on the butt stock. It's Stevens tool company gun

A family bible that has been passed down that many years is unheard of. Post a pic or two if you get a chance please Sir.

not sure how old it is. I never met her, but I do know it was made before 1944 because she was born in 1877 and passed away in 1944
