If he sits a year he will not be making money and he wont go #3 a year later, so in turn will get paid less by another team. How can this be a winning formula for Bosa?

His agent is an idiot playing hard ball....came back to bite him in the arse!!!!

He got 85% of his signing bonus up front, sounds pretty good to me

And not a chance he is a top ten pick after sitting a year. His signing bonus and guaranteed money would be a fraction of what it is now.
There will be less of a premium on an elite defensive specialist next year in the draft ?

It's not a winning formula for either party. Bosa misses a year.

San Diego loses the 3rd pick in the draft.

They stand to lose more than he does, I bet they cave.

posting about beheading a cop. Sure glad hunting season is in the fall. Don't get me started on basketball. Enjoy the season.

My roommate from my freshman year at SMU is VERY close friends with his dad. The one factor not being discussed here is that Bosa needs money like I need another whatasized #2 from Whataburger!

So yeah I was think correct due to the latest CBA Teams and player agents still have negotiating to do when it comes to the influx of rookies taken in the 2016 NFL Draft, but getting the rookies to put pen to paper on a contract is simpler now than it was in 2010 and the years prior. That was the final season before the latest collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and the NFL Players' Association was enacted.

Each of the 250-plus draft slots are allotted a specific portion of the league's total rookie compensation pool, effectively introducing a wage scale dependent on draft position. This means no more holdouts extending into training camp and few points of contention between agents and teams when it comes time to sign.

SO basically they are trying to give him the shaft on his signing bonus. From what I read the signing bonus is basically spread over a 4 year deal and also has a cap but it does not have a minimum. Just my understanding anyway.

                      He'll get paid.
no "owing" was insinuated.... He did however EARN his 3rd overall pick, money and stipulations that go along with that. He wants a fair deal and that chargers aren't playing ball

Still a premium, but I think the '17 draft will be deeper than '16 on DL and secondary. (Plus you'll have the high pick RB & QBs)

At this point, even if Bosa is signed, there is bad blood. Better another team gets involved, Chargers sign him for what he wants, another team takes on the contract and sends draft picks and/or players to Chargers. Once signed, he can be traded again.

This is a very good possibility.... only problem is the other team might not feel comfortable putting him in their system right away. It would be a lot to give up I'd bet.

Chargers would want compensation for a 3rd round pick.... could get expensive in terms of future pick compensation.

He'd play for Dallas before Gregory would.
