Bow Experts...question about draw length for my son

I bought a DXT for Colton last Christmas with a 29" cam. Draw length was perfect but he is a big ol 15 yr old. Long arms and 6'3" and still growing.

Here is his form with a 29" cam on his DXT. I believe he needs another cam...another half inch or so?

    It's about 2 inches long

I would say he is going to need a new cam at least an inch and a half longer

have him stretch that bow arm out.

he doesn't have an anchor point

correct that then look at his peep sight elevation

This... looks like maybe a grip issue too... adjust the grip, straighten the bow arm and get a solid ancher with the right knuckle... then see what it looks like...

Agreed on the bow arm out, center his weight more. Definitely don't get a longer draw length cam!

In that pic he is over drawing--think arrow nock below his eye. Lengthen his release, straighten his bow arm.

Tighten the release strap so it isn't in the palm of his hand
Have him hold his head straight, not bent over to the string.
Straighten out his bow arm and find an anchor along the jaw line, not a free floating hand in space. His peep will need to go up the string with the new head position and posture.

You really want the end of the nock directly below the corner of his eye. The length of this bow should be really close to correct once his form is corrected.

He definitely does not need 2 more inches of draw length.

have him make the loser sign with his right hand...have him lock the corner of that to the corner of his jaw.
                  that's a perfect Anchor Point

Johnny, like others have said, looks like he's over drawn quite a bit. Straightening his bow arm will help. When properly drawn, the knuckle on his draw hand index finger should rest tightly under his right ear and the string will cross the tip of his nose... (this is normal for 98% of folks and he looks "normal", well as normal as anyone from Montgomery county woods can be...

Just take him to Texas Archery AKA Bow Zone and let Richard or Joey work on him... They'll likely have the cam in stock if a different draw length is needed too...

                      How does this look?

                      20 yards.

Better, but he still doesn't have what I waould classify as a repeatable anchor point. Bow arm is bent too much, therefore the draw looks slightly long. Get that arm straight then pronate the elbow and it may be correct or slightly short. As mentioned above, he's moving to the string, head up and bring it to you.

                        Just my two cents.

Looks like crap. His bow arm is not extended fully, his bow shoulder is too high, his draw is waaaaaaay too long, his knuckle is behind his ear, he is leaning back, his head is tilted forward, he is too deep into the grip of the bow and his release elbow is pointing down.

Straighten front arm out next shorten release
Next looks like the peep is low. Really need to go to a pro shop
Grip needs improvement. Arms should be in the same plane
                            Goodluck

Have him anchor so the string just lightly touches the middle of his nose and see where his right knuckle is on his face, somewhere around the corner of his upper and lower lip. Then see what his elbow angle is.
