Custom Boots

I want to have a pair of custom boots made. I wear boots everyday...Boots with jeans, boots with khakis and a coat, boots with a suit. I've worn boots from every boot maker at one time or another and have primarily worn Lucchese boots for the past 10 years or so due to their comfort and durability. I'm not easy on them and I figure if dirt and mud pays for my boots (I'm a contractor) then I don't worry too much about getting mud and dirt on them. I do however want to have a couple of custom boots made... One for my dad and one for myself.

So please give me your best recommendation of a quality Texas bootmaker. I know that there are a lot out there, some of which are famous and some nobody's ever heard of, so I'm trusting that someone on the GS can point me in the BEST direction.

Tuned in for the answers on this one. The only pair of custom boots I own came from M.L. Leddy's. They are very nice and fit like a glove, but I think there are other great boots out there that could be had for much cheaper.

Have you ever tried a pair of Rod Patricks? You can get them to custom make a pair, may look them up and contact them about it.

I had another local guy make mine, and while he kinda irritated me at the time, I still love the boots.

Go to little boot company in S.A and be done. I have several pairs of boots from them and others and the littles are the best by far in my opinion.

I will get more custom boots but only from them.

Rios of Mercedes.....been in business since the 50s. They made a pair for me for my graduation from High School in 1957....
