Me too and I hate that I've got 250 of them bought one year ago that won't easily go into the chamber. After doing some reading I don't think the bulge was caused by the heat. Now I'm wondering if I can resize them by hand as it is just a slight bulge right on the tip of the shell. I saw a guy online doing it by sticking the tip of the shell in a properly sized socket and giving it a few twists. That would be tedious but worth I guess it if it works

My choice in order. Win AA, Rem STS, Kemen, Fiocchi .

We use about 20- 30 cases a year & I am the cleaner of the guns.

The way I shoot I can afford $10 a box. Rios are my go to. Dirty shells aren't that big a deal that's what gun cleaning kits are for

          John,

Look at the Estate or Federal 2 3/4 dram 1oz loads @ 1180fps (these are actually the same rounds from the same factory I'm told)

They use a bit harder shot, pattern better than the high volume 1 1/8oz max dram loads using soft shot...it's a better combo dove/clay round.

          Basically a target 20ga load for a 12.

The 7/8oz trainer loads by Fiocchi are really a joy too.

I won the national championship last year in my class with $5.50/box 1 oz shells. Don't listen to the "you have to shoot premium shells" crowd

Some guns are just tight chambered. Mine will close fine with all shells, but some are picky.

What about Winchester Super X heavy game loads? A little pricey but I like that you can get them with a full 1 oz. of shot in 20 gauge. That extra 1/8 oz means 50 extra pellets if you are shooting #8.

I shoot 7 1/2 light recoil 1oz that are closer to target loads for dove & whitewing...I know it goes against the grain & understanding of pellet count, but they will almost always pattern better with less voids for the birds to slip through. The harder shot flies truer than most of your 3 1/4 dram 1 1/8oz game loads that use a softer lead.

The added bonus is an extremely mild recoil using these full size O/U's & I bet you kill ratio goes up...I switched to this after talking with some clay guys. I use the same exact 2 3/4 dram 1oz loads for targets but with the 8 shot. Look for a velocity of around 1180fps.

Not terribly expensive at around 5.75/box....you don't need a max dram load for dove hunting.

Win AA's are $5.99/box if you load up during the rebate. Up to 5 cases per household. Helps if you have several households.Kemens/Fiocchis are $6.99 box all day. I agree, Rem STS are expensive.

In most guns you have to see what they like best. Different shells pattern differently but I would not put up with bulging shells. Just MHO.

You are either on or off, those 50 pellets don't make much of a difference.

I see a larger difference in shooters shooting 1oz vs 1-1/8oz due to recoil.
