X2. Best line I have ever worn. Tiburon pants are my go to in the Texas summer heat.

Ohhhh I thought you meant between good clothing and jeans and cheap jackets. You definitely can get much cheaper hiking gear not aimed at hunters at better or same quality. Guess you had some bad Sitka though I have been rough on mine for the last 4 years and not a problem with anything other than one merino shirt I shrunk big time.

        First Lite rocks.

They have excellent clothing, customer service, and ethics. Everything about them is the complete opposite of Kuiu. If you have any questions about anything just call them, they are awesome to talk to on the phone.

I put a couple holes in a pair of gloves of their's on my CO Elk hunt last year 6 months after I bought them and they replaced them no questions asked. On top of that, they give alot of money to RMEF and other great organizations. They also cater to whitetail hunters with their Sanctuary and Woodbury lines, unlike Kuiu. My Sanctuary jacket is the warmest and most silent jacket I have ever worn in my life. It made me sell my Cabelas Wooltimate set!

If you can make it till Black Friday and/or end of December/January most of their clothes go on sale for 25-40% off to make way for the next years lineup.

I just got my first 3 pieces for my mountain goat hunt. Sitka was out of stock of the items I was looking for .........thus next man up. I got the Verde pattern in what I call a puffy suit. It is cut a little snug for my liking but it will work out. I got a pair of insulated shooting gloves.........again had to fight to get my hands in them. And the last item was a nylon belt............perfect..........be wearing it everyday. I truly wish them the BEST and INCREDIBLE success as competition keeps everyone striving to do better. Thanks for sharing his response.

I have never owned any KUIU, but do have quite a bit of First Lite merino wool tops. Those tops are the best pcs of hunting apparel I have ever owned!

I have some Sitka, Kuiu and Under Armour hunting gear and there is a noticeable difference in the quality of the 3.

Kuiu and Sitka are several notches above the UA stuff, but they also cost roughly twice as much.

Since when has Kuiu been "affordable" for the average guy and not catering to the sheep hunter? It's expensive and aimed directly at the sheep hunters. Far from cheap.

                    The Real KUIU

Well its pretty easy to tell who's anti Kuiu. I wouldn't shy away from buying there gear cause of others opinions.

To the OP, you emailed the owner of the circus questions and the owner replied in detail. Id say him taking the time to answer you is pretty darn cool. It be a lot different if the clowns emailed you there opinions. That wouldn't sit well with me.

I think Kuiu products are awesome but thats just my opinion.

I also think Sitka products are also awesome minus the markup price but thats also my opinion.

Nice thread, if you can afford it. Their conservation doesn't make it any cheaper

Its all relative Matt. Like comparing all those expensive "affordable" swarovski scopes you own to bushnells.

Y'all should see the big Canada deer I killed in 20 degree weather wearing Russell Gear from academy. The deer was laughing at my cheap camo so I busted him. The buck was like....look at this fool. Kuiu gloves and beanie cost more than his whole set up including them boots. And I was all like, kapow.

There's another startup called Pnuma, that just went live on the net. They claim to have the most breathable fabric, and their prices are comparable to Fist Lite and Kuiu. More competition is a good thing. I don't have any of the above brands, mostly because I don't hunt where they're necessary, so I'm not promoting anything.
