Bellville Meat Market is where I go now. Heard an advertisement on the radio 3-4 years ago and for the price and quality I go back every time. Within the past couple years they switched to vacuum sealing plastic wrap and it is FAR better than the old butcher paper. It keeps much longer without the typical freezer burn. Just have to make sure you dont cut the plastic.

I guess different people have different experiences but I like consistency and the only place I've been able to find it is in my kitchen.

Had an axis done at Dorek's, so far ok. Normally use C&R in Danbury during the hunting season. Axis was during turkey season, C&R was not open then.
Need to try Antie's, I live in Pearland, didn't know they were there. I need to get out more.Last edited by txlawdog; 08-09-2016, 08:37 PM.

Greaks at Froburg Farm gets my top vote. A bit pricey, but you will get back your deer meat and the turn around time for sausage is days not weeks.
Stantons is a bit cheaper and consistent. I'd slide them a solid #2. Family owned and ran for many years. I'll never forget before Hurricane Ike how the big box stores all boarded up and hauled arse 2 days before the storm. Stantons family kept their grocery and hardware store open to the last minute and opened as soon as power came back on. Good people.
