    Cedar killer!
I cleared a spot several years ago and now in the process of a DIY barndo myself. Its a lot of work as you are already finding out.
Congrats on your adventure and your slice of heaven.

View from kitchen island looking out the living area window I just framed.

Well quote about 13k septic 10k to 13K depending on final design. I may do the septic myself. I have a meeting with electric coop Monday so I will know more about that then but bare minimum 1K.

No final designs on metal building or house inside yet so those prices are int the air. I will do a lot myself. I WILL NOT sheetrock tape and texture. Those boys are to cheap for me to waste my time.

We spent 15k on our well and about 6k to get electric where we needed it. Septic ran 6k.
Did you do your septic yourself?

The pic does not show near all that was cleared that weekend. I was standing where the back door will be.

I also cleared the pad site and another area off to the right of the pic for another view and started a driveway.

Very nice! It's a dang shame it cost so much to get a well these days. Sure eats up the house funds quick. Best of luck.

Yes sir did have some help from family. We went with a conventional system and could have got it done cheaper if it wasnt for all the **** rock!

Yes sir. the kicker is there is a waterline down the front of the property but I have been told that no meters can be added due to low water pressure. I will be meeting with the water dept director to discuss options.

I knew about the water before I bought the place.

Wells in our area run about 320 ft. deep.

Good luck on the build. I need to update my Barndo thread. Started off just awful, but now that I have the Contractor issues behind me and working on everything myself, things are looking up!

I had to look Cego up. Never heard of it.

I really did not want to leave Eddy but had to change jobs. I desinged and built the house in Eddy. I Currently have 5 acres 2800 Sqft of house and 1000 sqft detached shop. I have a lot of sweat equity in the place. Planned to retire there.

That place will be for sale in a few months.

The 250k-275 is my max, would hope to get a few acres in the deal.

We have a contract on our current home and the work will begin in earnest shortly. We will be building with the cash for the sale. I will be shopping for prices on the slab and Metal building shortly. I have gathered some names and am looking for any interested in the job between Bertram and Burnet.

I plan to work a few kinks out of my plan this next week. My hope is to have every thing in place to tell my contractor GO when the house closes.

The only problem with this is we close in the middle of OCT. Looks like my hunting will be limited some this year
