Go shoot at a mule deer at 80 yards on uneven ground when your tired in the mountains and let me know how those solid heads fly [emoji23]

I'm sure Ragin' will comment on this soon and offer his expertise.

I don't think I could even be bribed into shooting rage,, but I am glad we all have choices,, I am going to stick with my stingers and black hornets, I know they both fly exceptionally well to 100 yards and even farther, the stingers I have shot to 135 yards, I have not had a chance to shoot the black hornets that far.... yet

Yep, lol. I have used Rage since they came out and Rocky Mountain Snypers before. I have only had one issue, I made a bad shot. The rest have been fantastic, short, bloodtrails a blind person could follow. Love em!
Exit on bear, ran less the 20 yards

Given you have done it, and I have not... I will trust you on that.

But you won't find me taking an 80 yard shot on an animal with a bow anyways. Not saying anything is at all wrong with doing that. The same reason I use a fixed head is the same reason I limit my distances for killing shots.

BTW, couldn't agree with you more on this statement. Even for fixed broadheads.

I was shooting the Magnus Stingers/Buzzcuts and eventually moved away from them. Sure, they have a lifetime warranty... but those blades are held in by the ferule using a set screw. All of my failures with those have been the ferule bending, breaking, etc.

Sure, I am going "old school", but I now really enjoy having my blades WELDED to the ferrule. I have hit rocks, embedded in trees, etc and have yet to do anything more than just barely curl the tip...

If I were to use a mechanical... the structural integrity around the core would be something that I would defiantly take a very very very hard look at... like you suggest.

Ha!! They look interesting. Just stocked up on Rage for Africa in 8 days! I might return my recent purchase and try these.

I laugh at the Rage haters. One of the biggest African Archery outfitters that literally sees 100s and 100s of animals killed each year (and on film)....finds Rage to be one of the most lethal broadheads, even on marginal shots. I'll keep shooting what is recommended by the guys closest to the action and with no skin in the game.

I actually really like the killzones. I shot 3 animals last year with them.

I took these to Africa and liked them. Penetration was okay, but I was hitting everything straight up the leg through all that shoulder meat and I have a 26" DL.

I've never been a Rage fan until the Hypodermics came out. I've killed quite a few critters with them and replace the blades and rock on. I've not seen a single ferrule failure, but I have bounced any off rocks and whatnot either.

Btw, stainless is typically softer than carbon steel so I don't see how these will necessarily be any better.

And finally the reason to shoot a Rage is the cutting diameter, this seems to be a step backwards to me.
