My childhood friend John posted this. Sums up my thoughts really well...

Dear Tim Duncan, words can't truly express all that you've meant to the city, the Spurs fans and the game of basketball. As a 10 year old boy, I remember the excitement that my favorite college basketball player was going to be a San Antonio Spur. I never could've imagined just how much of an impact and legacy you'd leave. 2 years later, I sat in the stands of the Alamodome for the first 2 NBA Championship games in San Antonio. Sitting in those stands, I recall marveling at the media coverage, the fans, the aura just soaking it all in and hoping it would never end because I didn't know if it would happen again. Then you did it again in 2003, then again in 2005, again in 2007 and once again in 2014. The championships aren't the only thing you brought us. You taught us to be a humble champion, what it meant to be selfless in a world that is selfish, sacrificing for the sake of others(teammates) and most of all you demonstrated loyalty to your fans, the city, your teammates and the organization. Tim, thank you for all the memories, it's been one hell of a ride and I am forever thankful for the Greatest Power Forward of All time!

Have you seen his girlfriend? Not sure if they have gotten married, but I'd just chill with her for the rest of my life.

            So gorgeous looking!

I wish he would stay a little longer and make it 20 years with one franchise. Apparently Kobe is the only one to accomplish this feat in the NBA and Dirk will be the next . Would have made another nice career landmark for Timmy.

I'll sure miss seeing the "Big Fundamental" on the court. Spent the majority of my life watching him play for my beloved Spurs. I'm sure he'll stick around the organization in some capacity much like "The Admiral" David Robinson.

His retirement has been a possibility for the last several years. Even though I was mentally prepared for it, it still sucks to officially read it. Thanks for everything Timmy!

It's reported that the Spurs will hold a press conference on Tuesday about Duncan's retirement.

Tim will not be present at the press conference.

                                And the bank shot disappears.
Thanks Tim, start to finish you did it right.
